Cafe at Book-ish

Visited late on a Saturday afternoon. Great bookshop, and pleasant enough sitting on the ground floor space cafe. Menu (perhaps the time of day) was pretty sparse (cuppa and cake) but tasty enough. Fairly limited seating but nice to be able to browse books whilst waiting and/or after enjoying cuppa.

Gorgeous cafe hidden away at the back of the book store. I had the escalivada which was amazing, the coffee is the best there is in Crickhowell!! I will return again soon!

What a lovely cafe & a bookshop. I was so pleased to find an independent bookshop and also with a cafe offering great selection of food, drink, and sweet treats. All look absolutely lovely. My partner and I stopped by for drinks and a treat after our long hike on a very hot day. Sadly they ran out of ice so we got green tea, earl grey and a slice of ginger cake. What a reward it was! Ginger cake was so rich and has deep, carameli flavour and smooth mouthfeel with a good kick of fiery ginger. Cream cheese frosting complimented so well and not super sweet. We enjoyed a lot. Pistachio cake looked so tempting and I wish we tried that one too! We checked out the bookshop as well and they really have large selection of books for an independent shop in a small town which I appreciate. Should definitely come back and get a book to remind myself a lovely time I had here in Crickhowell

If you find yourself in Crickhowell, the café at Book-ish is a must-visit for coffee and food lovers. The staff greet you warmly, offering friendly and attentive service in an atmosphere surrounded by books, which adds a calming, nostalgic charm. The thoughtfully curated menu may be concise, but every dish shines. Even classics like avocado toast or a bacon sandwich become memorable bursts of flavor. The chef’s personal touch, checking in with diners, exemplifies the care taken here. Highly recommended—I can’t wait to return.

Every time we have been it's been such a pleasure. The food is outstanding and good value. The fact that it is attached to a bookshop is even better, food and a browse.. what more could you want?!

We love coming to book-ish every time we are in Wales. The children beg to come here for the milkshakes and food. And we love the book selection and always come out with one. The kids sit at the table and read and me and my wife have a lovely conversation. The food is mouth watering and the cakes delicious. The server’s always have such a bubbly personality. Book-ish in two words are absolutely brilliant. We will always come back.

Lovely cafe, and what a fab bookshop! Great selection, a real gem of an independent bookseller with a sense of personality and place.
